In addition they will lose $630 a month or $113,400 over 15 years which is the difference between the monthly mortgage and rental payments. The Second Step
Identifying the client’s target market is the second step. Knowing the prospective audience will help; otherwise you will just be talking to the wind. So you and your client will have to decide who the target market will be. This will be the individuals and groups who have the power to make decisions.

The target audience may or may not be the actual target. A health clinic for example has a diabetes support group meetings every month. The target audience is the health clinic but the target market is the diabetics as they are the ones who will decide what they need.

Clearly there is a need for a well-defined goal in order to identify the target market. Once the goals are clear you can ask who needs to hear the message and who must be moved to action. It is possible to have three target audiences. The first target audience could be the organization’s base itself and the clients. The second one could be the donors and supporters of the organization while the third will be the individuals who belong to the customer profile.

Then you can focus on the individuals and communities who can help make changes.
